The niggles I see most

Achilles tendinopathy High volume

Flares under volume. Almost always a fascial chain problem upstream - calf, foot, hip. Eccentric loading helps but doesn't address what's pulling on it.

Plantar fasciitis Dawn-step pain

The first-step-out-of-bed pain. The foot is rarely the cause - it's the messenger. Look at the whole posterior chain to actually clear it.

ITB / lateral knee Descents

Descents on Dartmoor expose it first. Glute med, hip rotation, foot strike - all connected. The ITB doesn't "tighten." It transmits.

Weak glutes Single-leg load

Single-leg instability under fatigue. Almost always the cause of niggles further down the chain. They don't fail - they were never properly loaded.

Old ankle sprains Years old

Never fully resolved. Locked in fascia for years. Affects everything above it. Most clients are surprised how much an old sprain still drives.

Hip flexor / thoracic Desk tax

The desk-job tax. Stealing your stride length one degree at a time. Most runners under-address this until it shows up as something else.
